Certificate of Advanced Studies in Business

The Certificate of Advanced Studies in Business offers a profession-oriented graduate education designed to support career advancement and instructional qualification. Intended for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, the certificate provides focused graduate-level coursework that builds business content expertise through elective options in management, marketing, healthcare administration, and accounting/finance.

This certificate is particularly well suited for educators—especially secondary school teachers—who seek to meet higher education credentialing requirements to teach dual-credit business courses. It also serves individuals with degrees outside of business who are exploring a career transition, as well as professionals seeking targeted graduate coursework to support career growth, professional development, or continuing education requirements.

The certificate provides a flexible option for those who may not wish to pursue a full graduate degree at this time but are interested in completing graduate-level business coursework. Courses completed as part of the certificate may be applied toward the Master of Business Administration (MBA), allowing for a smooth transition without extending time to degree completion should a student choose to continue.

The Certificate of Advanced Studies in Business is designed to align with accreditation standards of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Alignment with ACBSP standards reflects the rigor and quality of the curriculum and ensures the certificate supports both professional practice and instructional credentialing expectations.
