ROTC Scholarships – Invest in Your Future

  • Army ROTC scholarships are awarded based on merit—not financial need—and offer exceptional value:
    • 2-, 3-, and 4-year options based on your degree timeline
    • Full tuition and fees or $12,000 per year for room and board
    • $1,200 per year for books and supplies
    • $420 monthly stipend (for up to 10 months each school year)
      • Available to all contracted Cadets, even without a scholarship

How to Apply for an ROTC Scholarship

Applying is simple. Follow these steps to get started:

  1. High School Students:
    1. Apply online for a national ROTC scholarship. More information, including important application dates are available at https://www.goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/find-your-path/army-officers/rotc/scholarships. 
  2. College Students:
    1. Already in college? You may still qualify for a 2- or 3-year campus-based scholarship.
    2. Contact the ROTC department on campus to learn more and begin the process.
  3. Enlisted Soldiers:
    1. Interested in commissioning through ROTC while on active duty?
    2. Ask your career counselor about the Green to Gold program.

ROTC Scholarships at Chadron State College

National Army ROTC Scholarship

The National ROTC Scholarship is a highly competitive, merit-based award available to high school seniors who plan to attend a participating college or university with an Army ROTC program.

Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty (GRFD) Scholarship.

This scholarship commits one to join the Reserve Components, either the National Guard or Army Reserves (duty for one weekend a month / two weeks a year).

ROTC Career Scholarship

The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Career Scholarship helps Chadron State students earn their degrees affordably while gaining valuable career experience.

Key Benefits:

  • Scholarships range from $2,000 to $15,000 per year
  • Can be used toward tuition, fees, room, and board
  • Includes career-building experiences like internships and hands-on training
  • Renewable for up to four years for eligible students
