Sydney Brown has worked in College Relations as the public information specialist since 2024.

Tena L. Cook

Tena L. Cook has served as the Marketing Coordinator at Chadron State College since 2014, where she promotes faculty, staff, alumni, and student accomplishments through news articles, photos, and media outreach. She contributes articles and photos to the Alumni Magazine and supports campus events with publicity materials. Cook serves on several committees and coordinates advertising, logo licensing, and student workers. Before her 20-year background in admissions at CSC, she wrote for the Chadron Record and was a radio broadcaster in Wyoming. Her prose has been published in Leaning Into the Wind and Woven on the Wind anthologies.

Alex Helmbrecht

Alex Helmbrecht currently serves as the Director of College Relations at Chadron State College. A CSC alum, Helmbrecht earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a minor in Journalism. He also has a master’s of science in organizational management in public relations management from Wayne State College. 

Before working at CSC, Helmbrecht was a Sports Reporter at the Scottsbluff Star-Herald for two years. In 2007, he became Chadron State College’s Sports Information Director. Following a successful tenure in that role, Helmbrecht’s responsibilities expanded in 2014, transitioning to the position of Director of College Relations.

Helmbrecht is actively engaged in the Chadron community, mentors area youth, and is a co-advisor for Chadron State College’s Blue Key chapter.
