Dr. Michael Stephens, Chadron State College music faculty, speaks to a prospective student during a past on-campus registration session.

Students will also register for New Student Orientation on the same registration form. Students who are not able to attend an on-campus Signing Day event, can select the alternative option.

Advanced registration is required for Signing Day events. Registration for the April events will close Friday, April 10 and registration for the June events will close June 5.

All new students, incoming freshmen and transfer students, are required to attend New Student Orientation, Aug. 20-21.

During a Signing Day, students will have the opportunity to finalize their fall course schedules, meet with advisers and hear important information about academics, Student Services and student life at Chadron State. The events begin at 8 a.m. and finish by noon.

START Adviser Danielle Lecher said the committee in charge of the events has some great ideas planned for both Signing Days and New Student Orientation to connect new students to campus early, become part of CSC traditions and maybe start some new ones.

Staff in the START Office in Crites Hall provide students with a wide variety of financial aid and enrollment services such as assistance with class schedules, adviser changes, major and minor changes, credit evaluation requests, enrollment verification and name and address changes.

“The intent of the Signing Day events is two-fold. First, we provide students and parents a pre-orientation and allow them to take care of business before the summer gets into full swing. Second, by attending a Signing Day, students are not only signing-up for classes but are also committing to being a part of CSC,” Lecher said.
