CHADRON – A Sheldon Statewide exhibition, Nebraska’s Legacy, will open Aug. 29 in Memorial Hall’s Main Gallery. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will end Sept. 29.

Representing more than a century of artistic creativity at the University of Nebraska, the exhibition features artwork by former and current professors. Composed of paintings, sculptures, prints, and photographs, the exhibition gives insight into the evolution of the work of these professors and the influence living in Nebraska had on them.

Nebraska’s Legacy features work by early UNL professors, including Cora Parker and Dwight Kirch, as well as current faculty members, Francisco Souto, Aaron Holz, and Dana Fritz.

Sheldon Statewide started in 1987 with the purpose of sharing items from the collection of the Sheldon Museum of Art with the people of Nebraska. The show will visit eight venues across the state.
