CHADRON – Chances are good Channing Jons has read more books than most of his peers. Jons, who has been an Admissions Representative for Chadron State College for nearly a year, traveled thousands of miles and listened to countless hours of books last fall and winter while recruiting students in Wyoming, Montana and North Dakota.

CHADRON – For seven decades Chadron State College alumnus Verne Lewellen has been an advocate for his alma mater. To honor his contributions over the years, the Nebraska State College Board of Trustees unanimously voted Friday to name the hospitality center in the Sports Complex in recognition of the Lewellen family. The Verne and Erma Lewellen and Family Hospitality Center will provide a gathering space for boosters, alumni and supporters in the Con Marshall Press Box at Don Beebe Stadium.

CHADRON – The Chadron State College Army ROTC program is growing in numbers and in scholarships. Since August 2016, 11 new cadets have been contracted and more than $500,000 in scholarships have been awarded from Cadet Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky, according to Capt. Nate Reicks, assistant professor of Military Science.

LINCOLN, Neb. – On Friday, June 16, the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees approved tuition increases for 2017-2018. Tuition will increase $12 per credit hour, bringing undergraduate resident rates to $172 per credit hour at each college. With this increase, Chadron State, Peru State, and Wayne State remain the most affordable 4-year institutions in the state.
