The Chadron State Foundation has received $400,000 from the estate of Helen Funkhouser, who graduated from the institution after being raised on Chadron’s Main Street in the early 1900s.

The Fall 2011 semester in the Art Department was once again action-packed. The annual High School Art Day took place on Mon., Nov. 7, 2011 with over 120 high school students from Bayard, Bridgeport, Chadron, Crawford, Gordon/Rushville, Hay Springs, Hemingford, Kimball, Mitchell, Morrill, Oelrichs, and Sioux County. Twenty-eight CSC art majors helped instructors give workshops in drawing, painting, printmaking, graphic design, photography, clay and other media.
