CHADRON – Chadron State College’s Biology Capstone (BIOL 499) doesn’t shy away from challenging students. The upper division course is designed to challenge seniors by requiring them to read, interpret and present scientific literature to diverse audiences and synthesize knowledge from their previous years of coursework specifically in science, society and technology. Ideally, it also prepares students for professional school.

CHADRON – Chadron State College students, faculty and alumni totaled more than half the nearly 200 attendees at the Upper Niobrara White Natural Resource District’s (UNWNRD) annual Range Day on campus Tuesday. Others in attendance, according to CSC Associate Professor of Applied Science Dr. Ron Bolze, included ranchers, government agency employees and University of Nebraska Extension staff.

CHADRON – Chadron State College plans for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday will include a Q&A session and lecture by Cheryl Brown Henderson, daughter of the late civil right leader Rev. Oliver L. Brown. Brown was part of Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision, according to Dr. Dave Nesheim co-adviser of the CSC Social Science Club.

CHADRON – The Big Event will be hosting its fifth annual Big White Out during the women’s and men’s basketball games against Adams State, Friday, Jan. 19 at the Chicoine Center. The women’s game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and the men’s game follows at 7:30 p.m.
