CHADRON – More than 100 students from seven high schools will participate in the Best of the West Business Invitational Wednesday, co-hosted by Chadron State College and the Nebraska Council on Economic Education. High schools attending will be Alliance, Arthur County, Bridgeport, Chadron, Hay Springs, Hemingford, and Ogallala, according to Assistant Professor of Business Dr. Gary Dusek who also works with the Nebraska Business Development Center that is coordinating logistics for the event.

CHADRON – Nine Chadron State College students who are members of the Art Guild and two alumni will teach workshops at the Girl Scouts ArtVenture Day beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hall. The collaborative venture has been hosted at CSC for seven years, according to Mary Donahue, professor of Art.

CHADRON – The Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP) at Chadron State College has earned plenty of attention in the nearly three decades since it began as a joint effort with the University of Nebraska Medical Center to help provide doctors, nurses and other health care workers for underserved rural areas.

CHADRON – As a candidate for governor in Minnesota, Tim Walz wanted to unite the state as “One Minnesota.” And following a successful campaign, Walz became the first Chadron State College graduate ever elected governor of one of the 50 states. After serving in the U.S. House of Representatives for 12 years, Walz was sworn in as Minnesota’s 41st Governor Jan. 7 in St. Paul.
