CHADRON – Chadron State College honored Homecoming royalty during a pep rally Thursday on Elliott Field. Homecoming Queen, nominated by the International Club, was Natali Keni of Kahuku, Hawai’i. Keni is also involved in The Nest and is a member of the CSC Volleyball Team. King, nominated by The Nest, was Cort Rummel of Gurley, Nebraska. Rummel is also involved in Intramurals and serves as a student coach for the volleyball team.

LINCOLN – The Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State Colleges announced today that it will consider removing the “interim” designation from Dr. Jodi Kupper’s title and formally appoint her as president of Chadron State College at a special meeting on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. CT.

CHADRON – In early September, Medical Nutrition was added as the 12th option in Chadron State College’s Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP) partnership with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Students who earn a Medical Nutrition degree will be qualified to become a Registered Dietitian (RD).

CHADRON – The Chadron State College theatre department is preparing to present Delirium, an adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart, written by Assistant Professor and Director Brian Grob along with Elena Yazykova. The production will have a total of eight shows at the Black Box Theatre Oct. 30-31, and Nov. 1, Nov. 6-8 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 1 and Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.

CHADRON – Chadron State College’s annual Friends and Family Weekend returns on Friday, Oct. 10, and concludes Sunday, Oct. 12. The weekend is packed full of fun and nostalgic activities for parents, siblings, and friends of CSC students. Alumni awards will also be presented during the weekend.

CHADRON — Chadron State College will present the Distinguished Alumni Award to Lisa Moravec and Distinguished Young Alumni Awards to Loni Watson and Dr. Jacob Zitterkopf during halftime of the football game Saturday, Oct. 11 as part of Friends and Family Weekend. Family Tree Awards will also be given to the Owens family and the Marshall family.

CHADRON – Chadron State College alumnus Morse Clary’s retrospective show will be in the Main Gallery of Memorial Hall, Monday through Oct. 31. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show is free and open to the public. His widow, Cathy Clary, is lending more than 50 of Clary’s sculptures to exhibit, including a piece from 1962, when Clary was the first to present a senior art student solo show.

CHADRON - Nearly 900 students from 32 high schools around the region will gather at Chadron State College on Wednesday, Oct. 15, for the annual Scholastic Contest, a tradition that recognizes the academic talents of high school students from around the area.
