CHADRON – Chadron State College is the exclusive Nebraska sponsor of a positive digital messaging platform called the Kindness eWall. The platform designed by YouUplift, is intended for students, teachers, and staff to share encouraging and uplifting comments on digital displays on the walls of their schools. CSC’s sponsorship makes the Kindness eWall free to all public and private Nebraska schools grades K-12 for the 2024-25 school year.

CHADRON—To honor National Native American Heritage Month at Chadron State College, the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center is featuring exhibits of work by Nathan Blindman, a CSC alum, and the late Amos Bad Heart Bull. The exhibit is open until Dec. 13, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., except the week of Thanksgiving, Nov. 25-29.

LINCOLN – Governor Jim Pillen and the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) have announced a multi-million dollar expansion of the Nebraska Teacher Apprenticeship Program aimed at addressing the teacher shortage crisis in the state. This groundbreaking initiative was launched in April 2023, following the enactment of LB705 and the NDE utilized a $1 million investment from the legislature to bolster the recruitment and training of educators across Nebraska earlier this year.

CHADRON – Local high school students, CSC students, faculty, staff, administrators, and regional mental health professionals gathered in the Student Center Ballroom Wednesday for a Social Work conference about mental health with an emphasis on recovery. Seniors Emily Beye of Chadron and Sandra Arlt of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, organized the conference with Assistant Professor Becky Fernau. The annual conference has been hosted at Chadron State College for about two decades.

CHADRON – Students enrolled in Dr. Josh Ellis’ Aging and Death (FCS 320) course hosted an event called a Death Café in the Student Center Wednesday. The course is offered for students to meet CSC’s Student Learning Outcome #10 in Essential Studies, dealing with human diversity and interconnectedness.

CHADRON – Comedian Larry the Cable Guy will perform in Chadron March 2, 2025, at the conclusion of a six-week tour called Larry’s Nebraska Road Trip. The tour will offer fans live comedy, all new material, and include special guest Nick Hoff. Proceeds after production costs will be donated to the CSC Theatre department.
