CHADRON – Chadron State College's Winter Commencement speaker Dec. 13 in the Chicoine Center at 2 p.m. will be Brandon Hall, Principal of Deer Creek Middle School in Jefferson County Public Schools, Colorado. Hall started his journey as an educator in 2002 teaching high school social studies. In 2010, Hall graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, and a Principal Licensure.

CHADRON – Cayden Carrasco of Sidney, Nebraska, is Chadron State College’s Project Strive/TRiO Student of the Month for December. Carrasco, a sophomore, has a double major in special education and social sciences education.His biggest inspiration is his father, who has been a passionate special education teacher for many years. Carrasco would like to obtain the same fulfillment that his father has gained from being involved in education.

CHADRON – A new ceremonial mace will be introduced during Chadron State College’s Winter Commencement Friday. According to Professor Dr. Kurt Kinbacher, the mace celebrates the institution’s authority to confer degrees and symbolizes its academic independence. Since the ceremonial mace also represents the status of the college’s president, it is only present at commencements and other events organized and attended by the president.

CHADRON – Chadron State College Assistant Professor Dr. Gabriella Pruitt Santos and three students participated in the International Studies Association Midwest Annual Conference in St. Louis on Nov. 22-23. The students were Ruhama Molla and Wongel Molla of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Kosiso Daniella Akwanamnye of Awka, Nigeria.

CHADRON – Chadron State College has announced the students on the Fall 2024 President’s and Dean’s Lists. The President's List consists of students with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Students met the requirements for the Dean’s List by earning at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.

CHADRON – The investiture of Chadron State College’s twelfth president, Dr. Ron K. Patterson on April 5 was a major college highlight in 2024. The celebration included original music composed by Music Professor Dr. Michael Stephens that was performed by CSC students, as well as an inaugural poem written and performed by Distinguished Young Alumni Jovan Mays.
