Over 40 prospective students and their families plan to arrive on campus for the Eagle Open House February 18th. The families hail from Nebraska, Wyoming, South Dakota, Colorado, California, and Texas. The Admissions Office offers an open house each October and February.

On Feb. 17, the Chadron State College Department of Music and the CSC Foundation will unveil a recently refurbished 1918 Steinway Model D Concert Grand Piano. The 3 p.m. recital in the Memorial Hall auditorium by Associate Professor of Music Dr. James Margetts will feature music from the years 1909-1911.

World Championship Bull Rider Charlie Sampson will be in Chadron Feb. 21 and 22 speaking as part of the college’s celebration of Black History Month. Sampson, a native of California who used horses as a way to escape violence, will be sharing his inspirational story with the public Feb. 21 in Memorial Hall at 7 p.m. Tickets are not required.

Chadron State College President Randy Rhine has announced that Jon Hansen is the new interim vice president for enrollment management and marketing. "I am thrilled to have someone with Jon's knowledge of CSC and background on board. I am confident he will help us reach our objectives for the coming year," Rhine said. Hansen's experience in strategic planning and distributed operations will be utilized on special projects and initiatives from the president's office.

Chadron State College scores well in the U.S. Department of Education’s College Affordability and Transparency Center's new rating system of public and private post-secondary institutions. The college’s four indicators are all near or better than the national average. President Barak Obama announced the new scoring system in his recent State of the Union address.
