The members of Chapter 6, a professional a cappella ensemble from Illinois, will be the first performers to take the stage for Chadron State College's Galaxy Series of fine arts events and cultural activities this fall. The concert will be Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall.

Jubilant Bridge, a musical duo from the Denver area, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, in the Chicoine Atrium of the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center at Chadron State College. Sponsored by NeKota Reading Council and CSC, the presentation will be open to the public without charge.

The chancellor of the Nebraska State College System outlined many positive developments within the system and told of challenges facing higher education during his annual “State of the System Address” on Thursday. Dr. Stan Carpenter’s address at Chadron State College preceded the meeting of the NSCS Board of Trustees which will be Friday morning at 9 a.m. in the Chicoine Atrium of the Sandoz Center.

Dr. Bruce Thornton, a clarinetist on a 1,600-mile tour by bicycle, will perform at Chadron State College on Friday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Chicoine Atrium of the Sandoz Center. The recital will be in collaboration with James Margetts, CSC assistant professor of piano. The event is free and open to the public.
