Noted speakers, special entertainment forms coming to CSC this spring

Several noted speakers and special forms of entertainment are included on the second semester calendar at Chadron State College. The new semester will begin for both on- and off-campus students on Monday, Jan. 9. Applications for enrollment are still being accepted.

Bird flu will be topic of presentation at CSC

Sharon Medcalf, associate director fo the Nebraska Center for Bioterrorism Education, will speak to audiences about avian influenza, better known as the bird flu, during a visit to Chadron State College next week.

Osborne to hold Ag Entrepreneur Workshop at CSC

Nebraska Third District Congressman Tom Osborne will host an Ag Entrepreneur Workshop on Wednesday, Jan. 11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Center at Chadron State College.

New leadership, refurbished dorm and many honors among CSC highlights

The appointment of a new president was among the highlights at Chadron State College in 2005. Dr. Janie Park arrived on campus in August and immediately began offering encouraging words. Even before she officially began her duties, she greeted the CSC football players and wished them well for the season.

Chadron State president likes her job, seeks to increase enrollment

The new president of Chadron State College said the 4½ months she’s been on the job has been a gratifying experience. She said she already feels at home and is looking forward to the future.

Resident of CSC's West Court dies

Tomak Whitney, a resident of Chadron State College’s West Court housing facility, was found dead at his apartment early Friday afternoon. Services are pending for Whitney, who turned 34 years of age last Wednesday.

Ed Hoffman takes job in state college system office

The vice president of administration at Chadron State College the past nine years, Ed Hoffman, will become vice chancellor for facilities, planning and information technology in the Nebraska State College System Office in Lincoln in July. The announcement was made last week by Dr. Stan Carpenter, chancellor of the state college system, and Dr. Janie Park, the president of Chadron State.
