Parents, siblings and other relatives of Chadron State College students will arrive in Chadron this weekend for CSC’s annual Family Day festivities. While in Chadron, families will be given the opportunity to participate in more than a dozen events and activities. Friday night will feature the Wind Symphony’s concert in Memorial Hall at 7:30 p.m. and the Eagles’ volleyball match against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs at 7 o’clock.

Eight Chadron State College students were recently inducted into Sigma Delta Nu, an honor society for education majors. Requirements for membership in Sigma Delta Nu include at least sophomore status and a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on the 4.0 scale.

Chadron State College geoscience student Jennifer Balmat of Chadron and professor Mike Leite will present research about geological sites north of Crawford at the 119th annual meeting of the Geological Society of America. About 6,300 geoscientists are expected to attend the meeting, which is Oct. 27-31 at the Colorado Convention Center at Denver.
