CHADRON – Chadron State College will host Devin C. Hughes, a training and development expert, Oct. 4-7 for a series of presentations. On Wednesday, Oct. 6, Hughes will speak to the public about Diversity and Inclusion at 7 p.m. in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center. The event, sponsored by Project Strive, Student Senate, RLA, and the Diversity Committee, is free and open to the public.

CHADRON – Chadron State College Assistant Professor Dr. Tawny Tibbits is a co-author of an article accepted for publication by Advances in Archaeological Science. The paper's lead author is Dr. Marieka Brouwer Burg from the University of Vermont, followed by Tibbits, and Dr. Eleanor Harrison-Buck from the University of New Hampshire. The article is titled Advances in Geochemical Sourcing of Granite Ground Stone: Ancient Maya Artifacts from the Middle Belize Valley.

CHADRON – Chadron State College senior Mia MacDonald of Cheyenne, Wyoming, recently completed a graphic design internship with DHM, a landscape architect company, in its Durango, Colorado, office. MacDonald made the connection with the firm through her father, who is a civil engineer. The company, which provides planning and site design services to the National Park Service and works for municipalities and private developers, also has offices in Missoula, Montana, Carbondale, Colorado, and Denve

CHADRON – A former saddle-bronc rider from Moorcroft, Wyoming, Chancey Williams, will perform a concert in conjunction with the Chadron State College Rodeo Saturday, Sept. 18. Tickets for the concert, co-sponsored by the CSC Wildlife Club and Collegiate Farm Bureau, are free for CSC students and employees. One ticket per student or employee, with CSC ID, may be picked up at the CSC Student Center Information desk from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays until Sept. 17.

LINCOLN – The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) continues to see overall growth in enrollment for the System. As of Sept. 3, the NSCS had an overall increase in full-time equivalent (FTE) of 2 percent. This increase can be attributed to the large freshman classes at Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges. CHADRON – Three Chadron State College students and Dr. Kurt Kinbacher, History Professor, gave a presentation about the proposed Biking USA 2022 trip Tuesday at the Sandoz Center. Jace Demeranville of Gering, Neb., Sully Jones of Papillion, Neb., and Johnnie Gill of Auburn, Neb., spoke about the route, gear, and funding needed for the venture.
