CHADRON – Twenty high school students from Chadron, Crawford, and Alliance got a taste of college during the Upward Bound Summer Program hosted at Chadron State College in July. First-year director of the program, Heather Barry, said the high school students made new friends, looked out for each other, and showed kindness and compassion, while learning what college life can be like.

Chadron – The Chadron State Community Symphonic Band will begin rehearsals Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall Auditorium. The Community Chorus will not rehearse or perform this fall.

CHADRON – “Soldiering Into Victory,” a display in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center, commemorating the 75 anniversary of the end of WWII is now open. The Sandoz Center is an official stop on the 2020 Nebraska Tourism Passport program. Visitors can participate with a smart device app or paper booklets available at the front desk. The Sandoz Center is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
