Chadron State College will offer a rural school education course on-line during the fall semester. It will be taught by Dr. Clark Gardener, CSC professor of education and a member of the executive board of the National Rural School Association.

Chadron State College is among the partners in the Panhandle Area Health Education Center that will open Sept. 1 in Scottsbluff to improve health care services in 14 western Nebraska counties. The counties involved include Box Butte, Dawes, Sheridan and Sioux.

A native of North Dakota is a new microbiology instructor at Chadron State College.

A new assistant professor of elementary education has been hired at Chadron State College. She is Karen Enos, who hopes to complete her doctorate at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion next summer.

Dr. Robert Stack said he loves teaching mathematics, but when the opportunity to test the waters in administration occurred early this summer, he jumped at it. Thus, Stack is now the interim dean of students at Chadron State College.

A new multicultural counselor has begun working at Chadron State College. He is Aaron Grow, who was born at Osmond, Neb., but has lived much of his life in Kearney. He graduated from Kearney High School and received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nebraska-Kearney.

A Chadron State College music professor recently proved that he has fast hands. Dr. Sandy Schaefer placed third in the “Battle of the Hands” at a contest for drum players in Nashville, Tenn., in late July.
