CHADRON – Chadron State College will host a Sheldon Statewide exhibit, The Artist as Muse, in Memorial Hall’s Main Gallery Sept. 2-29. The exhibit includes portraits by artists and of artists from the Sheldon Museum of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The traveling exhibition is part of an annual program that shares work from the museum’s collection throughout Nebraska.

CHADRON – Chadron State College graduate Mack Rawhouser will be honored during Homecoming with the college’s Distinguished Alumni Award for his long and notable career as an educator, coach, civic leader, and community volunteer. Stephanie (Olson) Dantzler will also receive the Distinguished Alumni Award. Distinguished Young Alumni honorees include Whitney Campbell and Hilary A. Catron.

CHADRON – Chadron State College graduate Hilary A. Catron, a supervisor in the Nebraska Medicine Department of Clinical Nutrition, will receive a Distinguished Young Alumni Award during Homecoming. Other Distinguished Young Alumni Award recipients include Whitney Campbell and Dr. Jennifer Green. Distinguished Alumni Award recipients will be Stephanie (Olson) Dantzler and Mack Rawhouser.

CHADRON – Chadron State College will celebrate Homecoming from Oct. 4-9 with a theme of the Soaring 20s. Alumni events include a variety of receptions and reunions, while students have planned a large slate of activities. CHADRON – Chadron State College will host Devin C. Hughes, a training and development expert, Oct. 4-7 for a series of presentations. On Wednesday, Oct. 6, Hughes will speak to the public about Diversity and Inclusion at 7 p.m. in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center. The event, sponsored by Project Strive, Student Senate, RLA, and the Diversity Committee, is free and open to the public.

CHADRON – Chadron State College’s Theatre Department will present the first production of the fall semester, Little Shop of Horrors, Oct. 7-9 at 7 p.m. and Oct 10 at 2 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium. Tickets are required, but are free and can be reserved in advance at csc.edu/theatre.

CHADRON – Chadron State College Assistant Professor Dr. Tawny Tibbits is a co-author of an article accepted for publication by Advances in Archaeological Science. The paper's lead author is Dr. Marieka Brouwer Burg from the University of Vermont, followed by Tibbits, and Dr. Eleanor Harrison-Buck from the University of New Hampshire. The article is titled Advances in Geochemical Sourcing of Granite Ground Stone: Ancient Maya Artifacts from the Middle Belize Valley.

CHADRON – Chadron State College senior Mia MacDonald of Cheyenne, Wyoming, recently completed a graphic design internship with DHM, a landscape architect company, in its Durango, Colorado, office. MacDonald made the connection with the firm through her father, who is a civil engineer. The company, which provides planning and site design services to the National Park Service and works for municipalities and private developers, also has offices in Missoula, Montana, Carbondale, Colorado, and Denve
