Exchange students Ferhat Imarazen from Algeria, Salah Eddine from Morocco and Nikolay Harutyunyan from Armenia had an idea when this semester started. They wanted to teach other Chadron State College students how to speak French. Imarazen said, “Nik was the one who really insisted and made it come true even though none of us had taught French before.”

Dr. Norma Nealeigh, Professor of Family and Consumer Sciences, has announced her retirement. She arrived at Chadron State College in the fall of 1994. She served as the Applied Sciences department chair for 11 of the last 19 years, president of the CSC Faculty Senate in 2004-2005 and secretary from 1997-2003. She has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses, and was the CSC commencement speaker for graduate ceremonies in May 2011.

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Sandy Schaefer, professor of music at Chadron State College as the 2013 NSCS Teaching Excellence Award honoree. At the CSC annual faculty/staff recognition ceremony Tuesday night on campus Schaefer was honored as the CSC Teaching Excellence honoree, which qualified him as a finalist for the NSCS Teaching Excellence Award.
