Dr. Kim Madsen, director of the Chadron State College Child Development Center, received special recognition at the annual conference of the National Coalition of Campus Children’s Centers in Washington, D.C., March 5-8. A Chadron State College assistant professor of education, Dr. Arthur Borgemenke, has been selected to present a paper at the 19th annual Conference-within-a-Conference, an event of the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration. The conference will be April 4-8 at Nashville, Tenn.

Dr. Joel Hyer, Chadron State College associate professor of history, kicked off a series of lectures related to Lewis and Clark last week by telling an audience about the lives of American Indians on the Northern Plains before the explorers’ westward journey. Hyer said the arrival of Lewis and Clark, which happened at the start of the 19th century, signifies the beginning of major changes for American Indians.
