Blowing snow greatly reduced the number of schools and students at the 46th annual Inter-High School Scholastic Contest at Chadron State College on Friday, but more than 800 students from 34 schools did take the tests. Most of the 18 schools that could not enter the event were from the south and southeast.

Fuller Construction Co. of Chadron has been awarded the contract to renovate and add onto Sparks Hall, one of Chadron State College’s first buildings. The three-story, red-brick structure and addition will become the headquarters for the CSC administration and foundation.
