Four Chadron State College students who make up the War Eagle Company of the Rushmore Battalion, a ROTC program based at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, served as the color guard and were honored during the recent military ball at Camp Rapid.

School administrators from more than 30 schools will visit Chadron State College at the end of this month to interview potential teachers. The annual Teacher Interview Day will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 31, at the Nelson Physical Activity Center. The event is open to all people looking for a job in education, not only CSC graduates. Registration is from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and interviews will be about 30 minutes each.

In response to feedback from its Student Senate, Chadron State College will offer a limited number of reserved seats via tickets for graduates to distribute to family and friends for the spring commencement at Armstrong Gym. The ceremony will be Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m.

A Rapid City man, Terry Likens, won his seventh championship at the Chadron State College Chess Tournament on Saturday. It was his fifth victory at the tournament in the past six years. The exception was last year, when he did not enter.

The director of the Center for Regional Development at Bowling Green University in Ohio, Dr. Michael Carroll, will be speaking on “Cluster-Based Economic Development” at noon on Friday, March 24 in the Scottsbluff Room of the Student Center. The program will be open to the public without charge. A light lunch will be available to those who contact the CSC Conferencing Office at 432-6380.

Dr. Janie Park, president of Chadron State College, has announced that Dale Grant has been promoted to interim vice president for administration and finance at the college, assuming the position that will be vacated early this summer by Ed Hoffman.
